Meet Tressie Jordan, owner of Maison de Lionne

Tressie Jordan, a well-traveled mixed media artist whose no stranger to the sewing machine—and the luxury textile industry, has an eye for design and color—specifically with antique textile & vintage jewelry.

She is known for her handcrafted dolls (stand in line—there’s a waiting list). While her creative streak began with sewing, she has also been painting for years. Sewing since she was six years old, she brings her imagination to life with each stitch of fabric. Her mixed media paintings are reminiscent of Roman mosaics with a splash of pop art.

After twenty years of working for many leading companies in the high-end textile industry, she has a massive collection of gorgeous samples. Along with her love for collecting vintage material, you could find Tressie at her studio sewing or thrifting along the coast of Florida for collectible hand-selected jewelry and buttons to accompany & bedazzle her dolls.

From time to time, Tressie will incorporate custom beads she creates out of clay. Then, adding playfulness with her beautiful embellishments, each doll develops a character that Tressie will describe—as she sees it and will hand-write a story for each. Her collection of dolls is displayed in 7 U.S. Galleries, with clients expanding to Europe.

Tressie’s favorite destination is Asia, where most of her inspiration comes from her travels and interests in other cultures. But, while different customs have inspired her dolls, it has also influenced the interior design of her newly transformed Bed and Breakfast—Maison de Lionne—in downtown Breaux Bridge, LA. Tressie’s eye for detail is impactful for a serene feel, & every item she chose for her four-bedroom home has character & mystery---something that makes a place a wonderment that thrives on being discovered.

Maison de Lionne is located on the magical Teche Bayou and is vibrant and relaxing, with walls cool in color, making one’s stay a true getaway.

It is no wonder Tressie’s one-of-a-kind dolls have good juju!
